FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- Where are you located ? Approximately fifty miles between Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida.
- When is the best season ? Between March and November.
- What do I bring? Wear whatever is comfortable. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, tennis shoes, sun screen, a jacket if temperature will be less than 60 degrees. If you are not sure dress in layers. And don't forget your camera ! Be sure and check out the weather information
- Are you qualified? Absolutely. All boats are US Coast Guard Approved.
- How much is a fishing license ? $ 0.00 because you are covered under the charter license.
- What's the area like ? Orange Beach/Gulf Shores (aka "Pleasure Island") is a resort vacation community located on thirty two miles of beautiful beach.
TYPE OF CHARTER - WHAT TO EXPECT
Where do we fish? In the Gulf of Mexico. The length of trip determines how far out and what you type of fish you will catch.
How long are the charters? - Half day (4 hours), All day (8 hours), Evening (4 hours) (during parts of daylight saving time) and Over night.
No fish stories - what kind of fish do we catch ? On full day trips the captain will venture ten miles and further for BOTTOM FISHING at their "secret" places. You fish for red snapper, trigger, amberjack and grouper. On half day trips you are TROLLING for sport fish, king & spanish mackerel, jack carvallia, sky jack, blue fish, cobia (ling), wahoo. Special trips are also available for marlin and shark.
What's extra ? Cleaning your fish. Also, be sure and bring plenty of food and drink.
Who's going to clean all those fish? It's up to you. Usually the deck hand is available to clean and bag for a nominal charge per pound. (It's worth it !)
WHAT ABOUT RESERVATIONS/DEPOSITS
Is a deposit required? Yes, usually $100 to confirm your reservation with the balance due on day of charter. This varies slightly with each captain.
Can I get my deposit back? Your deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than fourteen days before your scheduled charter. Cancellation between fourteen days and twenty four hours prior to departure is refundable if a replacement charter can be booked.
What about bad weather? We do our best to reschedule for you or you can get your deposit back.
Where can we stay ? Wide assortment of quality hotels, condominiums and beach houses.
Can I use VISA or Mastercard ? Sorry - business, personal check, cash or money order.
OK - so how do I request a charter? For each captain there is a request form which can be e-mailed automatically to us. We will check availability and advise you by E-mail if the date(s) are available. Detailied instructions will follow. It's as easy as that ! So let's go
